What drove you to get involved with Uplifting Athletes? Hatalowich: I had several teammates from my high school go onto college and start their school’s chapter. What have you learned from your experience with Uplifting Athletes?

Hatalowich: Through Uplifting Athletes, my experience has taught me about leadership, communication, and surrounding yourself with great individuals. Throughout developing the Davidson Chapter, I had to step into a role to motivate my teammates, and coaches towards something that was never done at Davidson. I had to continually lead the team in the right direction in order for the chapter to flourish and be successful. It also forced me in a position to communicate and expresses different ideas and thoughts to players, coaches, and administration. Lastly, I knew building an Uplifting Athletes chapter was going to be a very tough, yet exciting task. I knew that in order to successfully build chapter, I needed to surround myself with a group of teammates that would help build the foundation of our Chapter and be major catalysts in the entire process. If it wasn’t for these individuals, I don’t think the chapter would have been as successfull as it was this past year.
