The NC State Chapter of Uplifting Athletes will hold its annual Lift For Life to support the Rare Disease Community on Wednesday, July 18 starting at 5:00 p.m. inside the Close-King Indoor Practice Facility.
Lift For Life is the signature fundraising event for the NC State Chapter of Uplifting Athletes. NC State is one of 22 chapters in Uplifting Athletes nationwide network of chapters led by college football student-athletes.
Each chapter embraces the mission of Uplifting Athletes using college football as a platform to inspire the Rare Disease Community with hope through the power of sport.
“It is an honor to be able to use our platform to help raise money and awareness for rare diseases through Uplifting Athletes,” NC State Chapter President Thomas Ruocchio said. “At NC State we take pride in being part of a team that is working so hard to tackle rare diseases.”
The 2018 NC State Chapter Lift For Life is open to the public and will feature a football team student-athlete run workout consisting of 7-on-7 and 1-on-1s. The competition portion of the Lift For Life will be between the offense and defense to determine which side of the ball can win the most 1-on-1 battles during the workout.
Doors open at 4:45 and the Wolfpack welcome all fans to join them.
Fans and supporters can make a pledge for every 1-on-1 battle either the offense or the defense wins. So pick your favorite side of the ball and help the 2018 Wolfpack squad Tackle Rare Diseases by visiting the NC State Chapter Lift For Life fundraising site.
The proceeds from our 2018 Lift For Life support the mission of Uplifting Athletes and its charitable programs: Rare Disease Awareness, Rare Disease Research, Uplifting Experiences and Uplifting Leaders.
Today, the challenges faced by the rare disease community are bigger than any one individual, team or organization can tackle alone. The NC State Chapter, along with a nationwide network of teams, is uniquely positioned to educate and engage the local community to shine a spotlight on rare diseases.
The NC State Chapter started tackling rare diseases in 2011 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. The student-athlete led NC State Chapter serves the Rare Disease Community in honor of former Wolfpack Offensive Coordinator Dana Bible, who battled the rare disease acute promyelocytic leukemia in 2009.
Please support the NC State Chapter and help the Wolfpack reach their $4,000 team Lift For Life goal.
