Penn stayed in the hunt for a second consecutive season of earning at least a share of the Ivy League title with a huge home victory over Harvard.
Quakers senior quarterback Alex Torgersen led his team on a late touchdown drive, threw for 263 yards with two touchdowns and became Penn’s all-time leader in passing touchdowns with 51 to earn the Uplifting Athletes Player of the Week honor.
Right after Harvard made it 14-14 with less than four minutes to play, Torgersen took the Quakers right down the field, covering 80 yards in 10 plays. Torgersen was 8-for-9 on that drive and capped it with a 2-yard TD pass to Justin Watson with 15 seconds to play.
Torgersen has thrown for nearly 2,000 yards this season with 16 touchdowns and only three interceptions. He’s also rushed for nearly 350 yards with an additional six scores.
