Washington continued its march toward a spot in the College Football Playoff and stayed unbeaten with a dominating 66-27 victory at Cal.
Wide receiver John Ross, one of the fastest players in the Pac-12 and perhaps the country, ran free against the Bears secondary to earn the Uplifting Athletes Player of the Week.
Ross, a 5-11 junior from Long Beach, California, had six catches for 208 yards and three touchdowns covering 67, 60 and 6 yards. Ross averaged 34.7 yards per catch as part of an offense that rolled up more than 700 total yards and had put 49 points on the board early in the third quarter.
For the season, Ross has 44 catches, 14 touchdowns and is averaging nearly 17 yards per reception as part of a talented and deep Washington receiving corps.
