Northwestern rightly had high expectations before this season kicked off. Then came that shocking 1-3 start. The Wildcats offense was full of talented puzzle pieces that struggled mightily to get on the same page.
That is not a concern anymore thanks to sophomore quarterback Clayton Thorson. Against a better-than-you-think Indiana outfit, Thorson threw for a season-high 285 yards and three touchdowns without an interception to earn the Uplifting Athletes Player of the Week.
Northwestern took out the Hoosiers 24-14 thanks a wicked fast by Thorson to win its third game in a row and improve to 4-3 overall. The Wildcats have wins over Iowa, Michigan State and Indiana the last three weeks.
