A new leadership team for the Northwestern Chapter has moved in and this strong group of college football student-athletes has worked hard the last couple months getting ready to hold another Lift For Life in Evanston after a one-year hiatus.
The Northwestern Chapter of Uplifting Athletes will hold its annual Lift For Life event on Thursday, July 21st.
Lift For Life is the signature fundraising event for the Uplifting Athletes nationwide network of college football student-athlete led chapters.
The Wildcats Chapter will continue its mission of using college football as a platform to inspire the rare disease community with hope through the power of sport.
This year the Northwestern Chapter Lift For Life will take place on the football practice field adjacent to Ryan Field starting at 5:30 p.m. The Northwestern Lift For Life is open to the public.
Wildcat fans are encouraged to come out and support the 2016 Northwestern football team as they help bring the vision of Uplifting Athletes to life; which is to empower people to take action against rare diseases and inspires the medical community to find cures.
The Northwestern Chapter leaders held a player draft for its 2016 Lift For Life and divided the squad into 12 teams. You can search for your favorite Wildcats player and make a donation for that team.

The challenges faced by the rare disease community are bigger than any one individual, team or organization can tackle alone. The grassroots effort of the Northwestern Chapter, along with a nationwide network of teams, is uniquely positioned to educate and engage the local community and shine a spotlight on rare diseases.
The Northwestern Chapter started tackling rare diseases in 2011 when it joined Uplifting Athletes. The student-athlete led Northwestern Chapter has served the rare disease community on two fronts.
When the Northwestern Chapter was formed in 2011, the Wildcats were inspired by former Northwestern and Notre Dame coach Ara Parseghian’s support of the rare disease Niemann-Pick Type C. More recently, the leaders of the chapter chose to use a personal relationship and added ALS as part of the motivation to support the rare disease community through Uplifting Athletes.
