Chapter check presentation highlights opening weekend trip to Syracuse

CUSE 1College football is back, and we could not be more excited. Bring on the dramatic finishes, big upsets and unbelievable comebacks.

Our first stop this season was a trip to update New York and a visit to Syracuse. As part of the opener at the Carrier Dome against Villanova, the efforts of the Syracuse Chapter were highlighted with an on-field check presentation for the funds raised from the Second Annual Lift For Life event in July.

The game itself had every emotion and twist you could hope for in a college football game. Villanova missed a chip shot field goal to win it as time expired. Syracuse boldly ran a fake field goal in overtime to score a touchdown. In the end Syracuse was able to cinch a victory by stopping Villanova’s gutsy call to go for the win with a 2-point conversion in the second overtime.

CUSE 2It was an exciting battle made even more meaningful by honoring the Syracuse Chapter.

We are looking forward to more hard fought games and supporting all of our Chapters this season as they look to excel at the highest level on the field. They have worked hard this offseason to be the best they can, which for many of them included holding Lift For Life events showcasing their strength and character.

This spring and summer, Uplifting Athletes worked with 18 teams across the country enabling them to hold their own fundraising and awareness events for rare disease research.

They did an unbelievable job collectively raising more than $260,000.

Now, it’s time to support them during the real football season and thank them for their efforts off the field. If the season continues to be as exciting as their first week proved to be, we are in for a wild ride.

Together … We Are … Stronger!
