Each week we will feature a college football player who is either a member or an officer in a Uplifting Athletes Chapter for our Beyond the Trophy series.
Week 1 Spotlight:
Player: Sean Duggan, Boston College
Height, Weight and Class: 6-4, 228 sophomore
Hometown: Cincinnati, Ohio
High School: Saint Xavier
As a player, what is your favorite part of game day you get to experience at your home stadium?
Duggan: My favorite part is the “Eagle Walk”. It is right after we get off the bus. We walk through the main street on campus. It is awesome to see all the parents and students tailgating and getting ready for the game.
What is your most memorable experience as a college football player?
Duggan: My most memorable experience was my very first start last year at Maryland in the freezing cold.
What drove you to get involved with Uplifting Athletes, and what if anything has this experience done for you?
Duggan: A lot of the older guys that I became friends with were involved in it and asked if I wanted to help. I thought it sounded like fun and would be a good experience. The experience has helped me become more of a leader in my class and has really opened my eyes up to the fact that even doing something small like Uplifting Athletes can benefit so many people that really need help.
Facebook, Twitter or neither and why?
Duggan: Both. I don’t really use Twitter though. I have both because its just an easy way to stay in touch with all my friends back home in Cincinnati.
What is the toughest team you’ve faced or regularly play and what makes them so difficult?
Duggan: Clemson. The speed and athleticism they bring is hard to match.
What is your major and why did you choose that particular major?
Duggan: Marketing. I chose it because it has always been something that i am interested in.
Besides one of your teammates, name a college football player you enjoy watching?
Duggan: Shayne Skov from Stanford.
Who is your favorite NFL player and why?
Duggan: I have always been a big Brett Favre fan. Loved the way he played through so many injuries.
What is your favorite road stadium to play in and why?
Duggan: I love playing at Clemson. That place is so loud and big.
