Happy new (fiscal) year!

Every year I like celebrate the first day of our new fiscal year as a milestone. Originally it was a sigh of relief, but after four straight years of doubling in size every twelve months, it has become a celebration of much more than survival. It is now an annual benchmark for new opportunities.

Ironically, today is Saturday and no one will be in the office to have a party, so I am joining Blogger and look forward sharing the details of this journey with anyone interested in following. Who knows…maybe next year you can actually come to the party!?!

It is also appropriate that today is not only the eve of a multi-school recruiting trip (the perfect time to start blogging, right?), I’ll be spending my Uplifting Athletes “anniversary” celebrating a milestone with my friends Drew & Christina as they share their vows this afternoon. And in lieu of traditional wedding favors, they are making a donation to Uplifting Athletes in honor of their loved ones. I’ll raise my glass to that!

Over the next few weeks…months…hopefully years, I hope to personally share anything and everything from funny to insightful stories I experience along the way. You’ll also hear directly from the college football student-athletes who have realized the position they are in to make a positive and lasting impact in the rare disease community. So stay tuned if you want to learn more about who we are, where we’ve come from and where you can help us go.

Together…We Are…Stronger!
